Whitehorse, Yukon Territory
Saturday, July 2nd we drove for 4 hrs and 45 min to Whitehorse. The Northern Canadian Rockies do not disappoint in the scenery department.
We saw a mamma bear and 2 cubs today and a bison. We're still waiting for the elusive moose.
Sunday, July 3rd.
On the drive to Skagway we stopped to see this lake (below) Emerald Lake.
Calcium Chloride deposits on the bottom of the lake reflect light to create the different look.
Skagway, Alaska Baby!!!
We finally made it into Alaska today. We drove the truck 107 miles from Whitehorse, Yukon.
Red Onion Saloon and Brothel............oh my. Cold beer, pizza, nachos- all good things!
Border crossing back into Canada. Nothing easy about getting into their country, they have a lot of rules. If the U.S. was half as tough, things would be different with our immigration problems.
