Denali Bus Ride : day #2 in the park
The green buses were the ticket for the day, the brown buses went the same places, you just had to pay twice as much to have someone remind you that the U.S. Park Service believes in climate change, all day.
This was the view from our first stop, about mile 25. It was nice to have a few minutes to hike up a hill to stretch out the old muscles after riding in the bus.
We saw several moose, this one stopped and posed for pictures.
This was a relatively young Caribou that circled around us and finally crossed the road- we did not ask why.
The road had a few exciting places. You will notice that there is no sign of a guard rail. There was also no pavement, center stripe, shoulder, or anything else that resembled a real road.
It's really hard to comment about this. I think Nancy wanted to do it for Andrea's sake- at least that is what I am hoping :)
The picture above is of Mt McKinley (Denali) but you can't see it. Les thought if the really big mountain was behind him, he would look smaller. LOL
The picture below is where the mountain would be IF it could be seen. We had one hole in the clouds and we could see the beautiful white snow on the side of the mountain but that's it.
You have to look hard to see the outline etched on the window, it's pretty cool how they presented it.
The scenery was awesome all day. Denali is a beautiful park that offers a lot of different landscapes, in a mere 2 million acres.
