 HO HO HO

Tok to The North Pole

We had a very rainy drive from Tok, Alaska to the North Pole just outside of Fairbanks, the night before we left our new friends Herbie & Carol rolled in unexpectedly. It was great to see them.

We love that we see people we know in the RV parks now.

Our drive was good, hardly any traffic, absolutely zero wildlife. I (Nancy) am getting cranky now.

In Delta Junctions we stopped for the end of the Al-Can HWY marker. Yup, we drove the whole thing.

Fairbanks is a very normal city with all the basic shopping: Walmart, Home Depot, Safeway, Fred Meyer.........

We met our friends Jim and Terry for dinner in a very lovely spot right on the Chena River and had a fabulous dinner. I ate locally caught salmon that I loved (and I am not crazy about salmon normally so I was thrilled). Jim and Les had a couple of local draft beers and had a lot to discuss about the RV travels and rigs.
We finished dinner and all 4 of us took a walk down the river bank and ended up in their RV park.
We sat outside and the temperatures were perfect. No real problems with mosquito's yet, but we are told they are still coming as it is warming up into the 80's now.
