Lakes : Louise and Moraine

This is beautiful Lake Moraine. (for Bev and Rod St Thomas, thank you for the recommendation)

We took a nice hike to the end of the lake. Yup, I wore the bear bell. Yup, Les laughed at me. However, he did have the bear spray on his belt!

This was a bit risky, everything is pretty slippery. But the macho outdoors man had to go across.

We thought the snow up on this mountain was so cool. We stood there hoping it would create an avalanche.....................................it didn't.

Above is Lake Louise, yes it looks suspiciously like Lake Moraine. Bear spray still on his belt.

Above is the Lake Louise Lodge. High dollar. Too many Asians.

And then we went on an epic hike, what felt like straight up a mountain (3800 ft). All total this day we hiked 10 miles. At the top of this trail was a "Tea Room". Sadly the trail was so crowded there was a 25 minute wait to even order. Lots of people eating pastries, cupcakes, sandwiches etc. In the end we got a bottle of water and we sold the gal working there our $2.00 coins and she gave us the bottle of water free. It was a madhouse

Along the hike we came across this waterfall.

At the top was this beautiful lake. The official name is "Mirror Lake" you can kinda tell why.

The temp started at 44 and we were very cold but after a while hiking straight up we got over that.
The hiking boots are turning out to be a very very good purchase.
Worth every penny.

Every view is beautiful. The Canadian Rockies are a lot different than the mountains we are accustomed to, and even different than the Rockies in Colorado etc.
